The Pinoy could easily have welcomed the Japanese and would have had it a lot easier. They didn't. They answered to call of America to fight the fascists everywhere. More than you know made it to europe. They fought and sacrificed like true brave warriors. It''s a compliment that they are regarded as being as much a guerrilla fighter as the Apache. Totally dedicated to defending their homes. I feel great pride for them as fellow soldiers. When I go to the VA in Manila there are old Philippine hero's sitting there getting the same treatment and benefits as I get. America considers them as American hero's too. Why does America do this? To keep her promises and because these people deserve our respect. Why doesn't the Philippines do more. They forgot. They forgot what America did for the PI and what the Pinoy did for America. If you meet a Veteran of any war you should shake his hand and say Thank You.

Well, gee, Filipino WWII veterans, stationed in the Philippines? Filipinos were there when WWII broke out; or, are you referring to Americans of Filipino descent that were sent to the Philippines during WWII?
Either way, contact the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars).
www.vfwpost2485.com is in Angeles City, the Philippines (Angeles City is a short ways north of Manila, where Clark Air Force Base was until Mt. Pinatubo errupted).
Either that one or the national VFW here in the States can provide a lot of information on Filipino vets.
