First, nice pic!
Second, it sounds as though it is "natural"; my parents had black hair and their parents, yet my brother had bright red hair!
Third, to be absolutely certain, have DNA tests done, the yDNA (for father to father on back) and mtDNA (for mother to mother on back).
Web sites that are good:
www.familytreedna.com
www.africanancestry.com
www.dnatribes.com
While a lot of people say these tests are no good, claiming they test only "deep ancestry", the fact is the DNA tests reveal ancestry types from about 2 centuries ago.
Good luck.

You look pretty dark in the spectrum of human skin tone. Your features are very African. You are so pretty as you are, I hope you will quit thinking about race questions and get on with your life. If you add some education and life experience to how you look you will be about as perfect as humans get.

Your mother is light skinned along with her sisters. You need to trace as much history as you can from your mother side of the family.

no, you may not be mixed. That is a tragic misconception that all people of African descent have to be dark skinned to be pure blooded. And that is just not true. There is a saying is secert in the black community that a black woman can have a white baby and she nor the baby not be mixed. Open your eyes , and you will see it.
