I am an author and I want to get some of my work published. How can I do that from home, how much will it cost me, and is there a website I can arrange it on? You know, like what company to send it to and all that?

NOTHING fantasy. Maybe true stories, or based around.
Something realistic.

Remember the scene in the Hitch Hikers Guide were the mice wanted to replace Arthur's brain with a mechanical one which would say 'were is the tea'?

Now if Arthur had been a woman, what would the brain be programmed to say besides 'Does my bum look big in this'?

I have just about everything perfect, except that I have "This sounds like a plot. How does the progatonist change? Be specific." written on my paper.

My story is about a woman, who has a wonderfully perfect life up to her personality disorder. Her other personality is nervous, paranoid, depressed..just about everything that she normally isn't. I was going to end it with her being sent away by her concerned friends and husband to get her disorder under control, but now that i think about it, that is a plot. The protagonist doesn't change.

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to end it? I'm drawing a blank here.
Thankies. :D

My thesis statement:
"Crimes committed on the grounds of insanity can be justified due to 'state of mind'. Everyone has a breaking point, for some it is sooner than others."

The rest of the paragraph:
"Crimes committed on the grounds of insanity can be justified due to 'state of mind'. Everyone has a breaking point, for some it is sooner than others. All our actions can be justified somehow, whether due to mental state, physical state, or another reason we create. No matter what, we always find some reason why our actions may be right in our eyes. In The Black Cat and The Tell-Tale Heart, Edgar Allan Poe attempts to prove this statement true through his gruesome narration, strong symbolism, and various literary techniques."

If I write "quarters" (as in LIVING quarters), is it followed by IT or THEM in the following sentence?

"The quarters may have officially belonged to Admiral Wilcox, but already Ben had made ________ his home."

I know quarters is a singular noun in this context, but does it act as a plural in other terms?

I've written a really great picture book (could also illustrate it). It would be for children from 1 to 6 yearsd old.
With a non-existant budget and no agent, how would I go about having the book examined for publication?

He's kind of a bad guy, but got that way by circumstance. Deep down, he's got a good heart. How can I show this through situations. I've already shown him having a good relationship with his mother. Is this pretty much what I have to do - show him being sensitive and considerate from time to time.

I just don't want it to look forced. Some sporadic situation that's out of place.
