Sorry malejisa, you are wrong. Third person LIMITED - not omniscient.

It is limited, because we do not know things until the characters know them. We do not know when Della cuts her hair that her husband sold his watch. The reader learns that at the same moment Della does. It is the element of surprise - found in Third Person Limited narration. If it was omniscient, we would know Della was making a mistake. There is normally no element of surprise in omniscient.

I believe it is a narrator point of view, forgive me if I am wrong it has been a while since I have read the story, but isn't it someone else telling the story? I believe it is and i googled it and got this website ...

it is definitely third-person omniscient and it is a good short story. We are actually discussing short stories and point of views for my ENG class at Ashford
