I am an author and I want to get some of my work published. How can I do that from home, how much will it cost me, and is there a website I can arrange it on? You know, like what company to send it to and all that?

I'd recommend www.lulu.com. You don't pay anything to get the book published there. It's a print-on-demand site (not a vanity press). My aunt published two books there in 2006 and promoted them locally and to friends/family. She made enough to do some remodeling on her kitchen.

If you're looking just to publish a few copies for friends and families, there are several vanity presses like lulu.com that you can check out. But if you really want to get legitimately published, you'll have to do your homework and really start researching agents to query.
