Just finished reading a book that was supposed to talk about a plot regarding 3 suicide bombers and the (female ) author just kept describing how everyone was dressed and how handsome her MI5 collegues were! Why doesn't she just write articles for Cosmopolitan and leave the rest to real good writers such as Frederick Forsyth and Hubert Selby?

I think Douglas Adams has been misleading us. I would say 24 is closer to the answer than 42.

I don't know the name of the author or the title, but I know the author killed himself before it was published. I believe his mother found the manuscript and had it published. All I can remember is that the main character worked in an office with an extremely old woman. I think it came out in the 70's. I know that's not alot to work with, but any ideas will be appreciated.

In the book are you born into being a Party member / prole? Can you cross over from being a prole to a Party member and vice versa? I would think to leave the Party and become a prole would constitute some sort of crime and be punishable but I don't recall this subject being broached in the book.

I disagree. I rather thtink that Athos should get the credit! I mean if it weren't for him (with the help of the executioner of Lisle), he and his friends wouldn't be able to put an end to Milady's deeds, right? Well, just my opinion.

Europe was unimportant til the 1400’s 'cause it then discovered some advances like gunpowder, printing, & the mariner’s compass that Asian civilizations were making. The mariner’s compass allowed them to travel out of sight & reach other continents. Europeans began probing other continents & finding “natives.” They realized they didn’t have the advances that Europe had & wanted to offer this to them. The price of this was colonization. Europe colonized many of these continents making them foreign to those who lived there.

This happened before H. G. Wells wrote this book in 1898. How does the title of the book, The War of the Worlds relate to Europe’s colonization of other continents? Do you think Wells had Europe’s colonizing other continents in mind when writing this book? Do you think there is any coincidence that the war of the worlds fell upon the British (Europeans) in the book?

I have a short 100 page book. I want to extend it too a novel and I have other partially written books. I joined a writers group and all they seemed to care about was grammer, punctuation and the absolutely strictest sense of form but I feel that style is what matters. To me the strict form can be worked on later and to judge a book by grammer, and spelling is like judging a football player by the way he is dressed. I can always get help with grammer and spelling but I feel that the skill is in the style and I want to know if I have any skill.

It has to be abou this song
(Can be like how the band was inspired to write it or about the theme of the song)

Tonight, tonight, tonight by the beat crusaders (yea the 1 from bleach!)

Woke up with yawn, it's dawn and I'm still alive
Turned on my radio to start a new day
Let's get them DJs chatting, hard to survive
amazing news got over on the airwaves

TONIGHT love is racing
TONIGHT constellation
TONIGHT love is racing my way
Almost another day

She's a shooting star, good night, good night
she's a shooting star, good bye

TONIGHT love is racing
TONIGHT constellation
TONIGHT love is racing my way
Almost another day
See you some other day
