I need some suggestions of really good, normal books to read that have won a nobel prize.
Any suggestions?

Preferably ones that aren't too gross or boring. Does anyone know if Running With Scissors has won a nobel prize?? I heard that was a good book...

I want to write a short horror story, but I don't know what the setting should be. My ideas so far are like a huge abandoned medical complex, complete with electrical issues and mutated patients/monsters., and a large church excpet I don't know how you could have an entire story take place just in a church. Ideas please.

I've read Time and I am half way through Space, very enjoyable. I've bought the 3rd book Origin. Inside the front cover of the 1st book it says that Manifold is a series of 4 books, the last book being Phase Space. Is this correct? In the other books it doesn't mention Phase Space, can you enlighten me please?

I love horror, mystery, real edge of your seat stuff, I want a thick dark book that keeps me turning pages, I want to feel what the people in the book feel, see what they see, I don't want ski fi or cavemen, I want Vampires, Witches, etc. without all the Merlin back drops, and magic wands.
I've read all the Ann Rice books, I did like the Witching Hour, but am looking for something a little darker, bigger, better in the same area.
Has such a book been written? or will I have to do it myself?

I'm writing a children's book and wondered if anyone else has sent anything off - and if so, what was the reaction you got - good or bad - did you have to completely re-write whole chapters or did the publisher only want word perfect material?

I don't think so, but I knew she compares herself and her Harry Potter against Dickens's work. She is not bad, but Dickens is better than her, Don't you think?

Has anyone ever read this short story? Its an ironic story where a poor girl borrows her rich friend's necklace and ends up losing it.she buys a really expensive one that looks like it and ends up spending 10 years of hell trying to pay it off and once she does.she givves the necklace back realizing the original one that was lost was only 500 francs where as the one she paid was 40000 francs.I'm trying to make a conclusion analyzing the irony in this story. Any ideas?

Ones with a lot of twists and confusing romance. Especially leading up to a wedding or Ginny being pissed at Hermione for taking Harry or a romantic struggle.
I'm bored.
Preferably, over 10,000 words.
