Lisey's Story and the Cell (which I have heard was more like his older works – and very good).
I have seen the "best book" question posted here many times.
The answer I have seen most (and I agree) is "The Stand" as his overall best. My personal second best is "Fire Starter". What an awesome main character - a little girl with pyrokinesis!

I think the latest works he's put out are graphic novels about the Gunslinger/Crimson King. As for my favorite, The Shining is the most terrifying thing I've ever read- the movie (which was good in it's own right, I must admit) doesn't do it justice.

I don't know what his latest novel is, but one of my favourite books is 'It', i must have read it about five times. I love the fact that when you read it you feel like you are experiencing someones whole childhood, and I really ended up caring for all the characters in it. I do think that his earlier books, such as The Stand and Carrie are a lot better than his more recent books, and would not rate his newer books highly. x

Lisey's Story is the latest novel. My favorite is the Gunslinger I really like the character of Roland. I also like how alot of his books are connected and make references to the other ones.

I dint know much about Steven King , But I Did see a very good film produced from one of his works - Needful things - very philosophical in its genre. Starring Max Von Sydow , Its basically how the Devil can use people manipulative to harm people . But first you got to believe in the Devil not the stupid vicious cruelty of people who bring pain and suffering into the world

My favourite will always be needful things - I love the temptation of all the residents and the build up of their greed. I do not know what his latest novel in USA is though

The Stand is not just my favorite King book, but my favorite book EVER. I've read it nine times (so far), and each time, I get something out of it that I didn't see the last times.
It feels like something that could really happen, which makes it so wonderfully scary!
And FYI, the book is a THOUSAND times better than the movie!

My fave is "The girl who loved Tom Gordon" it's a very small book about a little girl who gets lost in the wilderness. I think it's his best work ever. As for his latest novel I'm not sure.

Lisey's story is the latest. I have to say I don't have a favorite. I recently acquired the entire Dark Tower series, which kicks ***...but I think "It" comes closest to being a favorite. All his books are killer!
