What can you tell me about it? I know there are lots of books out there on Tolkien and Middle-earth, is this one of the good ones? Is it worth buying? Opinions wanted.

The book it's about a girl that gets hiered to babysit some kids, the
kids go crazy and kidnap her. They tie her up to the bed and torture and
rape her. They know somebody it's going to find that eventually so they
kill her, dump the body in some abandoned place and blame a homeless
man for the murder so they get away with it.

The cover of the book has a white background with the name of the book
printed in black letters.

I was reading The Teacher's Funeral by Richard Peck aloud to my kids and we were blown away by how hilariously funny that book was! What are some other books which we could enjoy which are along the same lines as the aforementioned one? (Very funny and fairly appropriate, preteen-teen reading level)

I'm a young girl and I am (i hope) a talented writer. I need ideas for a story short or long. I've had many experiences in life and I think I can portray an array of characters.I don't want this to be some weird Harry Potter remake or anything like that. Just some good non-copywrited clean stories ok? Just give my ideas I'll fill in the blanks...

Okay, so I have joined a writing competition. The topic is smoking. I predict that a lot of other students who joined the same competiton and just gonna put down some facts about the disadvantages of smoking. But I don't want to do that.

I'm thinking of writing a symbolic story, using nature. The moral of the story would be that smoking can do harm to non-smokers, so "no smoking, please". I am habing trouble starting. Could you guys kindly give me some ideas? Oh, and what do you think using symbolism?

Back in college, I took a few fiction writing courses. I really enjoyed the format of the class--we'd write our short stories, and then all get together in a group for a critique, where everyone, students and professor, would give constructive criticism. Everyone was honest in their reviews, and didn't sugar coat anything, but they weren't needlessly harsh, either.

It seems like most of the places I've found on the web look down on constructive criticism in favor of the "oh, you're so GOOD!" approach, which is sweet, but completely unhelpful. I'd really like to find a workshop, group, whatever on the web with good writers who are able to give meaningful feedback. Any ideas? Thanks.:)

I just finshed reading the book 2 days ago and actually had a love/hate feeling for this book. Hate cause so much description kinda annoyed me but I understood it was needed for the book. And, love cause I just think the book makes you think alot about us and how we treat life and etc. BUT, I found people who HATED with a passion and I just want to know why? I mean I don't think it is that bad.
