If you're serious about writing, join a writer's group, and take an online writing class that'll stimulate ideas, improve execution, and build skills while giving you feedback. And you can start building connections for when you start working for paychecks. Too bad you don't live near here, the AVWWG includes writers of all ages from 4th grade up. And all but two of the group is now published!
Ideas? How about picking up a scenic calendar and using each picture as a backdrop for a story?
For more exotic ideas, take a pile of scenic pictures and shuffle them face down in a pile. Take a list of characters (or pictures of potential characters) and make another pile. Now come up with a series of situations - just a sentence or something - headlines work well for this pile. You can make more piles including - time frames and genre if you want to. Then you reach into each pile, or bag, or box, or whatever you're keeping your piles in and draw 1 setting, 2 characters (one will be the good guy and one will be the bad guy), and 1 situation. Then write it in 5,000 words or less.
How's that for months of fun! I'm an award winning freelance journalist, and I still play that game when writing is getting boring!
Happy writing, and maybe someday we'll see your by line, or your name on the cover of a book!

Hmm....ok, I'll throw out a random idea for you (I warn you, it might not be a good one). This wouldn't be purely realitistic fiction, it would have to have a little bit of futuristic qualitites in it...is that ok?
A 17-year-old teenage girl lives in the year 2112. She's an ungrateful, selfish, and rude person who only looks out for herself, and, as is always true with these kinds of people, she's not really that happy, much as she tries to fake it. Her day of Change is coming, where at 18, she will be able to move up from the lowly ranks of Youth, to the responsibilities of Adult. Her personality and her goodness of heart will determine whether or not she is accepted as an Adult, or whether she is Abandoned from the community. She thinks that she's perfectly suitable, but of course, she's not. Then one day, she accidently gets sent back in time, to the year 2007. And when she awakens in her new surroundings, she discovers something - her passage backwards in time has left her literally blind. She has to feel her way through an unfamilar world totally dependent on the people around her, and somehow, "seeing" herself, and everything around her, in this different way, helps her to realize that she can be a better person.
Yeah, pretty bad. But it's open too, since you could have her do all kinds of things (meet a guy, meet a family, meet a friend, etc.)

A writer should write what they know about. For ex.: A special vacation spot, your pet dog, horse back riding a special doll that takes a trip as a real person, a flower garden and all the insects and bugs that live there. Pretend a trip to a place you have always wanted to go and then look that place up and learn about the places, products, people, & produce. Your family, your friends. Sports, music Think about what excites you and start

1. My dog and me.
2. City government official, like a mayor.
3. TV today as opposed to your parents TV.
4. One day in the life of a normal young girl.
Don't ever say you won't get published, you never know.
