Young (4th-5th year) Snape is being harassed by the Marauders and tortured by his abusive father. He finds Tom Riddle’s diary under the floorboard of his bed at school. Through his long talks with Tom, he develops from scared child to vengeful teen, becoming less terrified and more angry at his tormenters. He becomes seduced by the darkness, and joins the death eaters.

Anyone have ideas for a title?

Not too long ago I used to go on a Harry Potter Fanfiction site, but I can't remember the name.. It was like "Too quiet" Or "It's too quiet"... I don't really remember. Does anyone know? All I remember is a bunch of warnings about the ratings, and you had to go through two pages to enter and a popup.. Help!

I need inspiration in my life, and I think reading a novel would be a good idea. I've narrowed the author I want down to Stephen Hawking, because I've heard things about his books that seem to be of interest to me. I want a book that makes me think, perhaps something about physics. It needs to be easy to read without much of the technical jargon. Will some kind-hearted individual who likes reading Stephen King novels please help me in narrowing my options down to one or two books?

All I remember of the story was a young boy was hiding in someone's house and found a door to a mysterious land.. In the land there was a bird that was always flying around screaming MAYDAY!! not much to go on I know but any help would be appreciated.

In simple English, can anyone explain the lines of this poem?
Our two souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to aery thinness beat.

If they be two, they are two so 25
As stiff twin compasses are two ;
Thy soul, the fix'd foot, makes no show
To move, but doth, if th' other do.

And though it in the centre sit,
Yet, when the other far doth roam, 30
It leans, and hearkens after it,
And grows erect, as that comes home.

Such wilt thou be to me, who must,
Like th' other foot, obliquely run ;
Thy firmness makes my circle just, 35
And makes me end where I begun..

I mean like Alice and Wonderland type of stuff? Trying to find a good book like that. :) Would like to hear what's the weirdest stuff you've read, like worst and best.

Also I've never actually read Lewis Carroll's books so a little insight on them would be helpful before I read them in case they're really bad. ;P

I loved Lace, it's an old novel for Shirley Conran. I also read all Harry Potter's series. Stuff like this is what I like during a nice vacation.
