I have one.Check it out!One night,my husband and I were driving down the highway to get to the pet store. My cat had run out of food. She was also very sick.As we were driving, our car started to sound like the oil was out.My husband checked, and the oil was fine.He looked at the map,and we weren't on the highway we were supposed to be.He looked at the map,and we were on something called "Bloody Highway".We were freaked out because alot of people died on "Bloody Highway".As we were driving,we say a lady in white and her husband sticking their thumb out and waiting for a lift.We stopped and let them hop in the back seat. They said that they wanted to get to the nearest gas station and fast.We got to The Shell and dropped them off.A shoe fell off.I looked at it,and it had a cloven hoof.I got seriously scared, and tried to call him to come back to get his shoe. But when I turned up my head,he was gone.Along with his wife........

Anything by Angela Carter. The Bloody Chamber and the Company of Wolves are my favorites by her. Her books are hard to find though. I've had to order all of mine through Books A Million. The stories are well worth it though, and trust me, they're creepy and scary.

The master is of course, Edgar Allen Poe. Stephen King, Anne Rice are good, But King lets that open ending where the story is not completely over.

The most moving ghost story I ever read was "Playmates" by A. M. Burrage. It's in a recent paperbook anthology of ghost stories edited by Roald Dahl.

I suggest Edgar Allen Poe. He played on our deepest fears. Most of his stories are "creepy" so just pick up a book that has several of his stories.
