Just wrote it, want to get your opinions.

Prologue: Remembering

Even after so many years, I still cannot say exactly why I saved him.
I acted purely on impulse, something I believe was always meant as my downfall. I didn’t think; I merely did, never considering the possibly life-shattering consequences. Or afterlife-shattering consequences, or whatever you choose to call it. Honestly, I’m going to quote every cheesy romance book out there and say this. It was his eyes.
For me, this is a strange story to tell, because it is so unlike any other I have ever heard. I saved him. My kind is not meant to save, or interfere in any way. We are meant to watch, half in horror and half in anticipation, as death claims all. We are meant to remember, we are meant to understand, but it is an unwritten law; you must not interfere.
Of course, I had to interfere.
I can’t say I regret it, either, at least not as much as maybe I should. Truth be told, it was the stupidest decision I ever made, and trust me, I’ve never been one to choose the right path. Yet somehow, I’m alright with that. These things happen because they are meant to, not because of a foolish girl’s impulsive ways. I couldn’t have changed his fate, or my already ruined fate, even if I had wanted to.
For me, this is also a painful story to tell. It’s hard, to remember everything I made myself forget, to see the past as I see the present, through eyes I cannot call my own. It’s a twisted existence, mine is, but somehow it’s all worked out in my favor. So I interfered even more to make it that way. It’s not like I was going to play the part of the girl, watching and waiting until my prince saved me. But I also wasn’t the villain, because everything I felt was indeed sane and moral.
So what was I?

Do you all think JK Rowling will kill off Harry Potter in the final book of the Harry Potter series. Why or why not will she do this?

I may still have to go with "The Great and Secret Show," although "The Damnation Game" was pretty good too.

Saul knew that before long he was going to have to move from the seat. He had been sitting there for close to an hour, his gaze alternating between the dusty grandmother clock on the wall, and the fresh corpse lying on the floor at his feet. His loose grip on the steak knife was a perfect -------* to his even looser grip on reality.
He knew he would have to move soon, but just not yet; for once he moved, the whole chain of inevitable consequences stemming from his actions would fall into play. The longer he sat there, the longer he held it off.

(that last sentence is a bit clumsy, but I'll fix it in the rewrite)

Well I think that Snape was told by Dumbledore to kill him to ensure that Snape was not revealed to Voldermort as being a spy for Dumbledore and to save Malfoy. And also that Harry will definetly return to Hogwarts as Dumbledore is there in his painting remember that they can speak. But if Dumbledore had a horcrux(which i highly doubt) it would be fawkes because he simply can not be killed permanently(he is reborn) and is therefore a perfect horcrux. But I think there is a way in which Harry can contact sirious remember the small square mirror there must be a reason why J.K Rowling added that to the end of book 5 maybe sirious has the other one with him(as he might not be dead, but in another dimension)she doesn't explain where the curtained archway leads.Do you think Voldermort might of made his wand a horcrux as it is important to any wizard.and i agree that it was Remus Black who wrote the letter and the locket is in 12 Grimmauld place. But i dont think that Harry is a horcrux himself

I wrote a book about 4 years ago and sent it to only 1 publisher. Although I did not have it published, that publisher knows my pen name and my book. I'm beginning to revise my book and send it out to more publishers...can I change my pen name and some details of the book, or could I look like I'm committing forgery and dishonesty? HELP!

Facades of Truth

By- BENAM

Truth has so many facades!

How often I wish I had more insight
More insight into the working of the world.
Not the physical but human one.

Long brought up on the notion of superiority
Superiority of the American civil
and social Administration
I got a jolt,
jolt of “Ladenic” proportion.
When the “New Orleans” disaster occurred.

For what I saw was unbelievable
Nay an ‘out-of-world’ sight for me.
For I saw before me not the America of my imagination
But horribly divided, seemingly third world nation.

Children, women, men
Dying unattended for days!

Truth they say is bitter
And bitter indeed it is –
The realisation that the global policeman
Is sheltering thieves in its own house.

I'm just wondering, is there any consensus on how many books have ever been written, across all languages, or even just in English? I don't mean how many copies, but how many different books. Thanks.
