I started this great novel, too many years ago now to mention. I've overcome writer's block a couple times before, but this time it's really hard. I find so much else to do, that has to be done, or that's more appealing. I know it's mostly an excuse to avoid getting back to work. My book has gotten excellent feedback from serious writers, agents and editors and I love the book like a woman. Yet I'm not writing. It disturbs me. Any advice from other writers or even from non-writers, who often have a fresh point of view on these things, would be appreciated. Tell me what you think and where you're coming from as a person so I'll appreciate your ideas better. Thanx.

I am looking for a recommendation for my next sci-fi read. My favorite authors include Orson Scott Card and Vernor Vinge. I prefer books of the series nature but a strong stand-alone story will work also. So if you have a recommendation for these tastes please let me know! Thanks!

I read, read and reread but cant seem to recall or remember anything i have read, I read slower, faster, I even write the key thoughts of the book on paper and still cant remember, Im only 18 so it cant be Alzheimers, etc.. and the things I read I do want to learn and have interest in.. Obviously Neiche, Socrates and Descartes can be very boring but why is it everything I read somehow slips out and doesnt retain to stay in my mind? Anything I could do to help with this problem would be very much appreciated, thank you, and no its not that the material read is beyond my comprehension, **** just happens and I want to know how to fix it

I know that's kinda an awkward wording...what I mean is how many words are generally in a well-developed sentence that isn't a fragment or a run-on? Also, I don't mean sentences like "The dog runs fast" I mean normal sentences that you might find in a article or essay. Maybe 20...?
