No, I don't think that Harry Potter will be killed in the final book of the series. J.K. Rowling has written the series as a battle of good versus evil. I believe that she will show that good will triumph in the end. Incidentally, she has *not* said that she will kill Harry because she doesn't want other writers to pick up the stories after she is finished writing them. What she said was that she could understand the choice of other authors to kill off a popular character to insure that others didn't write stories about them. Not the same thing!

Anyway, the prophesy was carefully worded to say that "one cannot live while the other survives." I think that refers to the fact that both Harry and Voldemort survived the Avada Kedavra that was meant to kill Harry as a child and that they will both attempt to kill the other until one of them is killed. I think this means that Harry won't truly be able to live (enjoy life) until Voldemort is vanquished. She has also said that she will tell us what happens with the characters that survive. I think that will include Harry, who will have a happy life after the showdown with Voldemort.

I don't think J.K. Rowling will kill off Harry Potter in the last book because really, it would ruin the series. The hero die? Maybe the hero's friend or his enemy. But she wouldn't kill Harry. She wouldn't, she just can't!

Rowling said in her last interview that she doesn't want another author coming along and copying her style of writing the Harry Potter series in the future so she going to do away with him and another character. That interview was posted on the front page this summer of the Victoria, British Columbia daily newspaper the Times Colonist. The interview was given in July.

No she will not. well she might but I don't want her to before Harry and Ginny get married and all that jazz. I do not think that in the future Harry will be headmaster but I can't help but wondering if Hermione will become the new headmistriss if she goes on with the series

I think she will. There's only so many times someone can escape death. By killing Harry off, she will also be able to put some kind of a stop to spin-offs after her death and the copyright has died out.

Yeah, sucks, doesn't it?

The reason she will do this is because of the huge outcry from all the fans, causing another book to be written which will have so much advanced publicity hype that it will be an instant best-seller on advance sales alone.

not sure, part of me thinks he might be, just because it might be a good way for J.k. to end the series, but then the other part of me says no . . . it will end on a cliffhanger leaving the possibility of j.k. to write again in the future . . .some people are money hungry, she might be too.

She has already said that she did not kill him off. Which implies that you-know-who will die, since the prophecy said . . . but one of the main characters is going to die.
