This was the closest match I could find at my Library website, www.kdl.org.
Author Gates, Doris, 1901-
Title The golden god, Apollo. Illustrated by Constantinos CoConis.
Pub info New York, Viking Press [1973]
Apollo was the Greek god of thunder

I tried several book site(Barnes & Nobles, Schuler Books, Amazon.com, E-Bay) and found nothing closer than this library listing. Sorry that I wasn't able to "pull one out of the Hat" for you. Double check your title. One that I found repeated several times was Gods of Thunder and Fire.

Just to correct Pundit Bandit, Apollo was not the Greek god of thunder. He was the god of light (and, just in case anyone's interested, he was *not* the sun god, as most pub quizzes would have us believe ... although he did have some 'control' over the sun, of course). The Greeks didn't have a "god of thunder" as such, but the closest would have been Zeus, who used thunderbolts as his weapons.
