When do you feel fully free?

2007-10-03 03:10:30 · 15 answers · asked by Somewhere in Time 3 in Philosophy

This poem was written at a sad time in my life, when I lost my Mother to a massive heart attack.
MOM
You were always there in every way
When your children needed you.
You always tried to cheer us up
When we were feeling blue.
When we were feeling down and out
You always had a smile
And when you offered a helping hand
You'd go that extra mile.
Your smiling face is one of the things
We all will surely miss
But every one of us know
That yuo're in Heavenly Bliss.
God called you home that Friday night
Because he needed you
He knew your work here on this earth
Was now fianlly through.
We'll miss you Mom but we know
It won't be very long
That we'll meet again in Heaven
To join you in Praise and Song.

In Loving Memory of my Mom

I'm currently in a show where I have some physical contact with a guy. He is supposed to hug me and comfort me after one of the other characters offends me, but to me it feels like more than acting. He holds me really close and strokes my hair, maybe it's just me but I think there could be more to this scene than meets the eye. He also holds me close around my waist from the back while I'm watching the scene from one point. Our director didn't give out any of these instructions specifically, he just told him to comfort me. He's always very nice to me offstage too. I just wanted to get some opinions on whether he might like me or if he's just a really good actor. Thanks!

With the madenning spree that the modern civilization is utlilizing fuel, there is little hope that the end of petrol/fuel would mark the end of all this technology (electricity, wireless comm, tech gadgets, vehicles). So, imagining the fuelless life on earth is pathetic as all of us have become so dependant of this form of energy. So might argue about solar/nuclear energies but don't you feel these are too limited to be exploted ?

So, we might end up dying without food in the long run, or the corporate offices and huge structures which were built will be electricity less and eventually no body would be able to travel. So, this present way of exploiting fuel is leading us to a global suicide.(atleast future generations are going to suffer). What do you think ?

If you want to believe that this was just an act of hate carried out by Islamic extremest who are jealous of beautiful wealthy Americans, your not looking at the big picture. Think about it, What were the results of that day? Did a nation go to war? This was a well thought out, carefully executed plan. somebody spent a lot of time, effort & money to make sure that it happened. Do you really think they did this just to kill a few thousand inocents? I don't think so. The responsible party new that this would result in the U.S. going to war. This was the desired effect. We were provoked and took the bait without any hesitation. Think about it. We've given the terrorists what they wanted. They wanted war and we gave them one without an end in sight. Who wanted a war? Terrorists right? One more time. Who asked for a war? Islamic terrorists. Is it wise to give terrorists what they want? Bush seems to think so. Let's see now, terrorists wanted war. Bush wanted war. They both want the same.

Especially with the advent of the machine age this question is more pressing. Is it ok to torture and/or kill other humans or animals? Is it ok to pollute the earth?

Please explain for the benefit of all peoples and nations. This has been an issue throughout the history of mankind. What is responsible human behavior?

I'm not looking for things like Harry Potter as my interests lie more in adult reading like A Song of Ice and Fire, Dark Tower, and Sword of Truth. Here are the series I've read and enjoyed:

A Song of Ice and Fire
The Dark Tower
Sword of Truth
Otherland
Wheel of Time
Assassin's Quest
... and others from Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and David Eddings.

So does anyone know of anything really good I am missing out on? There's a lot of fantasy books out there at the library or the book store and I am just looking for some ideas.

Under a polygraph, the examiner poses that hypothetical question. He adds that you are absolutely sure beyond any shadow of a doubt that the money will never be even missed. There is no chance whatsoever if your being discovered.

Most answer "no" but the polygraph indicates "deception". The examiner goes back to the question time after time and still it indicates "deception". Finally they answer "yes" and the polygraph indicates "truth".

If you were under the polygraph, would the result be similar?
