BBC showed members of the public the photo which was removed from an exhibition. Personally, I see it as two innocent children playing. I can't understand a mentality which makes nudity and pornography the same thing - they clearly are not, so in my book it isn't porn. I honestly get quite worried by the thought processes of those who regard this kind of thing as porn. Children do this kind of thing all the time, but usually not in front of the lens of a camera. But I may concede it is exploitative, insofar as the subjects of the photograph were much too young to consent to the publication and public display of their image. This image of "Klara and Edda Belly Dancing" by Nan Golding has been exhibited countless times and printed without complaint, but if there is a complaint about it I think it is merely one of exploitation of the subjects, not of pornography.

Is that wrong? You do not have to volunteer. But if you are negative you are gone. No exceptions.

IMHO, the US is bitter with the Middle East. IMHO, terrorist organizations are bitter with the West and the US.

Can we help others to move past their bitterness?

I recently bought a Canon Rebel XT, a Tamron 17-50mm lens ($450), and a Canon L 70-200mm lens ($550). After all that money spent on photography, I'm sometimes surprised by how crisp and clear photos of wide open scenes and landscapes taken with a cheap $100 point and shoot camera (taken by a complete amateur). Sometimes these photos seem to come clearer on the Point and Shoots. Why is that? It's discouraging! Thanks!!!

PS: I don't want you to think that I'm dumping on SLR's. Close up and portrait photos provide much better bokeh then a P & S.

Why is it that every time I talk to somebody about writers they always seem to know more and is more interested in American writers? Is that they think American writers are better, are they ignorant (not stupid, just under exposed), or are they stupid?

I believe some the best writers in history are foreign, from Oscar Wilde to Voltaire to Johnathan Swift to Franz Kafka. So why is it people so know little about them.

Has anyone tried "offensive action" eg if there's a meeting coming up and some moron is going to push for some sort of office rearrangement that will greatly impede the project, arrange for his car to break down so he doesn't get to the meeting.
(I never do this, and very few people ever do or would, but it would seem justified)
