I've read about the other modes, especially the Shutter (S) and Aperture (A) modes, but I can't seem to "understand" it nor which buttons to press concerning the settings.

So should I shoot and shoot and shoot with the auto mode before proceeding to the others? In time I would really like to learn how to maximize the other modes though.

I'm using the kit lens of 18-55mm.

I have an old sculpture that a friend gave me, i thought it was just a unique lamp at first, but when i looked at the bottom it had a stamp, and Paul dubois's initials on it, its a porcelain or plaster version of a piece called "Le chanteur florentin" im wondering if anyone knows if this is worth anything, please get back to me.

i need to answer this question in class in like a 2 minute discussion. I also need to say what Congress left out. I'm not sure what exactly this means, but just give me about a 2 paragraph explainantion, that might help me do some more thorough research. Thank you.

I love ALL the Die Hard Movies. Bruce Willis makes me believe he IS, his character. You can see that shift to character, in his eyes. Many who act, do not.
How could "Die Hard 4", be BETTER?
LOVE IT!

Schlager or full rapier blade?

I am having a sword custom made for my fiance to give him as a gift for our wedding. It will be a stage combat worthy weapon, but I am not sure which blade to go for. The schlager blade we have on another sword seemed too flexible and whippy, but maybe it wouldn't be as bad with a shorter blade made by a better craftsman.

My choice is a 3/4 etched hilt with the full rapier blade, or a full swept hilt rapier with schlager blade and no etchings. They are both beautiful in the sketches, I'm not sure which to go with and I need to decide asap so it can be made in time.

Thank you for all of your help.

So. I love to read. Right now I have two questions in my mind:

Does anyone ACTUALLY know when the third book in the Eragon trilogy will come out?

When does Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke come out in the US????

I REALLY NEED TO KNOW THIS SO THAT I CAN START TO THINK AHEAD ABOUT MY READING SCHEDUAL!

No. I do not actually have one, but I'd really like to know.

I have a project in philosophy class to find an interesting ethical problem in the news of the past six months. I am looking for something unusual (other than the outsourcing to China and the lead paint or should Michael Vick be fired because of dog fighting or retained because he is good for ratings). It should also be something that is actionable (i.e. nothing about is the war in Iraq ethical or things like that that the average graduate will never have to face).
I would greatly appreciate if you could point me to a few articles that represent the ethical issues you are suggesting.
Thanks.

My assignment this week, is to take pictures of objects in motion. It has to be CONSTANT. We are expiramenting with aperature and shutter speed, so the first five pictures have to be the same object, five times (using a different aperature..etc.)
The backround has to be the same, speed of the object in motion, etc.

Requirements of the picture:
-consistant
-outside
-the object moves from left to right, not away or towards you.

Some ideas i came up with are the following:
-someone riding a bike, skateboard, rollerblades, or running.
These all fit the requirements: consistancy, out doors, and left to right.
(I can have the runner go back, and run again.)
I thought of taking pictures of my dog running outside, but that won't always be consistant. She may run in a different direction, or different speed.

With that, what other things can I photograph??
(I don't have a car, and it's hard to get a ride, so it isn't ideal to go places. Just, outside my neighborhood.)

..."real" artist the other day.

No right answers here, but if you would please offer "a seat of the pants" definition (in your own words, whatever pops into your mind) of a "real" artist, I would love to read it.

Is it based on talent?

Getting paid?

Passion?

Who enjoys the work?

I'll be auditioning for Aunt Eller for the school musical. I already have an accent down, but I was wondering what sort of clothes I should wear. I plan on buying some sort of thing from a thrift store, but I am in such an inspiration rut; I haven't any ideas.

Also, if I sprayed my hair with a colored spray for hair (grey), would I be able to wash it out in one night?

Thanks for any other suggestions you might have, too. :)
