My assignment this week, is to take pictures of objects in motion. It has to be CONSTANT. We are expiramenting with aperature and shutter speed, so the first five pictures have to be the same object, five times (using a different aperature..etc.)
The backround has to be the same, speed of the object in motion, etc.

Requirements of the picture:
-consistant
-outside
-the object moves from left to right, not away or towards you.

Some ideas i came up with are the following:
-someone riding a bike, skateboard, rollerblades, or running.
These all fit the requirements: consistancy, out doors, and left to right.
(I can have the runner go back, and run again.)
I thought of taking pictures of my dog running outside, but that won't always be consistant. She may run in a different direction, or different speed.

With that, what other things can I photograph??
(I don't have a car, and it's hard to get a ride, so it isn't ideal to go places. Just, outside my neighborhood.)

I don't know if you have access to a horse barn or not. But you could go watch a lesson and photograph the horses. They only go a at few different rates and I'm sure if you spoke with the trainer/owner they would be more than willing to allow you to photograph their lesson. Thats just a suggestion. You could also do someone swinging on a swing set. I think that would be interesting....

Are you positive it has to be the same object? It can't be cars driving by?

I was going to suggest finding a safe location near a busy road. Mount your camera on a tripod and use Aperture Preferred Mode. Use ISO 200. Start at f2 or f2.8 and make an exposure. Then one at f4, f5.6, f8 and f11. In bright sunlight you should go from "freezing" the cars to fairly substantial blurring - all against a static background. Don't forget to record your settings.

I was going to tell you to take a picture of a rollar coaster, but since you don't have a car I suppose it would be a little difficult to find an amusement park or a fair close by. Why don't you take a picture of a car driving past your house or somebody jogging by. Or skateboarding, rollar blading, riding a bike etc.
Good Luck!

Depending on where you live, I don't know if you're near a big city but coming from Toronto, I like the ones of perhaps the streetcar/subway/train passing behind a person [person in focus, taken with a fairly slow shutter speed so that the streetcar/train/subway looks blurred]. Comprendez?
Just my idea ^.^

How about cars or trains. Trains work well especially if they are very long. Set yourself up on a tripod and with a very long train moving at a constant speed you will be able to fire off several exposures and BAM, assignment done...

If you don't ahve access to a train a ceiling fan will work as well.

Find a busy street and shoot the cars driving by. They go fast, usually at a fairly constant rate.
