Where has the deeper philosophy of the bygone eras gone? The modern Philosophy seems to be nothing more than the glorification of self and the make of self worth more than anybody else.

So where has the deeper philosophy gone?

Serious answers only.

Thanks.

Does anyone know what the earliest example of a motion picture is? Not a movie, just a segment of motion in general. Also, where I can find it, if it's available to view online, thanks!

Do you know any books that come close to this one? I don't and there aren't many out there. I want some good books. Did you know that Stephenie Meyer is going to be on Good Morning America on August 7 to talk about Eclipse? That was just incase you didn't know. I'm super excited about Eclipse. What do you think is going to happen? I really hope they get married. What about you? Would you let Edward bite you? I don't think I would want to be known as the condemned but Edward is so frekin cool.

Last Goodbye

My tears are falling with the rain
The water on me is hiding my pain.

How could you treat me this way, I treated you good
I gave you all the love I had, hoping you would return it back
But now I realize it wasn’t meant to be
I still feel for you, like I know you do.

I still wake up at night reaching out for you
But we need to go on and forget each other
Because we know there are always others
So next time you’re standing in the rain asking why. I will tell you this is my last goodbye.

Do you feel bad for what you did?
I can tell that the answer is no
Well you’re out of my life; I don’t care where you go.

If you’re in love you don’t treat that person bad
But that’s what you did, we're over
Will you miss me? Do I really care? Cause I can go on now, knowing you not there.

My peace has returned, my peace has returned
This is my last goodbye, my one last cry out to you.

what if the medicine we take doesnt really help but everything is a state of mind? see, my friend told me that he believed sickness was a state of mind, and he hasnt been sick ince he was 12(he's 30) What proof do we have that a microscope really sees cells and not something else?what proof do we have that DNA is what makes an individual, and is not something else? What proof do we have that a mirror reflects a persons' imgae? How do we know that the pics Voyagers 1&2 send us are not just false images or technological mishaps? How do we know that a telescope shows us stars, and isnt just something of a kaleidoscope? How can we be sure that trees and plants don't have some form of communication? That there isnt some underground race that has advanced technology beyond ours, or that even cloaks their discovery with this technology? What proof do we have of the make-up of planets, comets and such things? What if there is no sensible explanation for anything, but we just have it like it is

Since the more people there are that witness something, the more distributed the meaning becomes in that everyone has some unique perspective that can be summed to surmise a true event, with increasing new details and depth of meaning with increased witnesses.

The Roman people, the government, the city, the....everything!
Personally, I really really really like them. In the beginning they had great morals and an astounding way of conquering and calming the world with their brilliant government system and totally cool army. But around the first century A.D. they started getting dirty, and not as cool. I still think they are awesome. So, what do you think? I really want to know! Thanks.

third rose

in neighbor's well rusts old bucket 's jaw
on flowers naps summer, in the garden, silence,
from beyond the green grays old picket fence
a knot and a splinter in the sun flash
old bucket hits the mirror of water with a loud splash,
at clouds in the sky let us look through leaves
let us bring our souls so close so they can trade dreams.
the scent of roses, a bird's song and two laboring souls
and two beings hiding in the green... and in the chaos of shadows
and in the sunlight rhythm...
and when besides the soul and the flesh
there is a third crimson rose which will outlive ages ash
then let this be the rose which burns in our breast,
the third rose, other than the soul and the flesh...
