You start at the side and slice it sideways and
then you take both pieces and give one of them
to your yahooey friend.

Ah! But when it is first cut in eight or six or however many pieces, a slice is defined for that one pizza, isn't it.

Thus if you have a cut pizza on the table, and someone asks for half a slice for their child then it makes sense and is a true statement for that pizza.

Yes. It would still be half of the original slice.

instead of thinking lonways, think width. if you cut in half by width, wouldnt you have half a slice. because your right no matter how small you cut it long ways, it is still a slice, reguardless.

This is not really an answer to your question but it reminded me of my sister when she was little. My mom would make her a frozen pizza and ask her how many slices to cut it into...my sister would say, "Make it four, I'm not very hungry" or sometimes, "Cut it into eight - I'm hungry tonight." *s*

Yeah, it's like the rabbit that's twenty feet from a wall. Every ten minutes it jumps half-way to the wall. It keeps getting closer and closer, but never reaches the wall.

Well yeah because whatever the original size was, it has still been halved either way, you can just keep halving that half until it is no longer a...well half!

Yes, if it is cut at a 45 degree angle.
