It's the famous one-word question that's shown up on philosophy, theology and linguistics finals. What's YOUR answer?

BTW, the only reason I put the "Okay..." part in is that Yahoo INSISTED that the question be at least 10 characters long. So it really IS a one-word question...but if you wanna comment on the "okay", go ahead!

WHY is not always a good question. The one question that is always good is HOW.

Well, the old joke TRADITIONALLY goes like this:

A philosophy final contained a single, one-word question: "Why?" Everyone, no matter how much they wrote, failed...except two people. One student answered "Because" and got an A. The other got an A+ for asking back, "Why not?"

Seems like your answerers have heard the joke...but some seem to have improved on it.

" Okay " = you are approving of the answer , but you want to know the " WHY " , does the student know why?? That is what the professor wants to know .
