Im wondering if this pic http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=deathlyhallowspage2si8.jpg is really a leaked page from book 7. It looks like its not a page from the other books, because i dont remember that scene, but it may just be my memory.

At the end of HBP, I was wondering how such a powerful and feared wizard like Dumbledore could've died so easily. I was also wondering if he had ever killed anyone, thus enabling him to create a horcrux (ex: Fawkes the phoenix.. this would explain more deeply the meaning of the name, "Order of the Phoenix"). I was thinking that possibly Snape killed Dumbledore in order to gain trust back from Voldemort, allowing him to truly be a spy from the order, fully knowing that Dumbledore is not really dead. Snape's skill in Occulemens (sp?) would also be an asset to his spying due to the fact that this would prevent Voldemort from reading his true thoughts and/or possessing him. Any thoughts??

I was thinking about cloning, and people say that if you cloned Hitler or Einstein, you wouldn't get the real person, just a lookalike. If I wanted to clone Thomas Edison, couldn't I build a little town, fill it full of actors, and recreate every day of Thomas Edison's life, so his clone would end up just like him? Any ideas?

I know there were plenty of atrocities committed by the Nazi's during the war, but the Nazis were a group, not Germans. I saw a few Nazis were Danish as well.

Movies like Schinder's List, Saving Private Ryan, and so forth are important, but being that films about other war crimes through history are few and far between in comparison, I feel Germans in general are harassed from this.

I have some German in me, and as such the connotation of Nazi, and German is the same as (n-word) and black, or poor white and trailer trash.

Any others with German ancestry, or sympathetic to us feel this way

I found I picture of a beautiful flower on the Internet that someone took with their digital camera. For fun I decided to draw the flower and now my art club is having an art sell where we can sell any drawings we want to sell. Could I sell my drawing of the picture I found or would I have to get permission?
P.S.- I remembered that I found the picture on someone's myspace about two years ago.

Alright, I had to read a story in school.. probably in Jr. High.. and I remember vivid details.. but can't remember the name..

So, it's set in the future, not long after a nuclear bomb kills all life. It is talking about all the things going on in this house.. Automatic systems of various kinds.. like it automatically makes coffee, and then cleans up after itself, automatically feeds the non-existant dog, dusts.. etc. etc.. One of the last details is when the story takes you outside and there is a black image on the side of the house or garage of some children playing... they were outside playing when the nuke went off and it obliterated them .. but somehow the ash created the image on the wall exactly as it had happened.. It reminds me of Ray Bradbury, but I have yet to find a story by him that is the same.. Anyone have a clue?

Ok, i have asked this question before, but I think I phrased the question a little off. Back in the days of original pirates, how much might a merchant ship charge another ship to guard them from one destination to another. For example would they take a percentage of the cargo, or was it a set fee based on length of travel or a combination of both? If it was a set fee, what might that fee have been? 1000 dollars? 10000 dollars? Please be specific as possible, I am part of a reenactment group and I am trying to gain as much info as possible and I can't find it online. Thanks!

It doesn't matter which english-speaking country it is (I'm Canadian) but I need to find one that welcomes new authors and is mainstream fiction that dabbles with fantasy and horror.

Also, which kind of publishing house is best suited for me when my story contains elements of thriller, horror fantasy and based in the 1800's?

Thank you so much for any help!!

...from outside Friar Laurence's cell, would you gather the feuding families into the town square of Verona and tell them all you saw, or would you keep it to yourself? What do you think about feuding families finding out about such forbidden romances right then and there? Do you think they have a right to know about it immediately? I'm curious about all your thoughts. Thanks.

I have tried before... but the stories end up being like 30+ pages instead of 2 or 5 pages. I just seem to go into too much detail. And it kills me not to go in deep. So what do I do?

Are there any tips to help with this? writing exercises maybe?

I want to be able to write shorter stories. Thank you!
