Why is PDA illegal? This is more of a "if" question...

sunset bows to the curtain of night,

humbled by a vain blanket of stars.

a lunar spell entrances the sea,

as still air mocks my sails and scars.

one last night in this casket adrift,

upon currents unkind and too far from home.

salt in my nose,

damp in my shoes,

surrounded by life,

yet forever alone.

bring us the last thimble of wine.

we'll drink up a toast to our bitter defeat.

raising our chalice to the vulture's prey.

to sweeten our meat for the carrion feast.

it has been shown that cartesian philosophy is flawed. for example his proof of god is very weak and easily argued and his idea that we can never know other minds or reality is in a way true and false. the only thing that is truly valid his his famous "i think therefore i am", which is the only thing we can truly prove empericaly.

but his doubt of the world is nowdays outdated. luckily we hav come along way since him and show over whelming EVIDENCE of other minds ESPECIALY wittgensteins private language argument against solipsism and putnams arguments against the brains in a vat.

it is shown that even though we can know through the use of common sense and rationality and logic used in there arguments makes it clearly evident that there are other minds.

the ONLY thing that hold the skeptics philosophy skepticism is the fact that even though we can show through logic that there is a reality we still canot rely on our senses thus not being able to prove anything EMPERICALY

in conclusion we can sho that obviousely there is a reality and other minds. however we can nver prove anything empericaly because in order to that we must use our senses. so the only thing that we can PROVE is that we exists.

so realy solipsism and skepticism are flawed obviousely. but we cant never PROVE it flawed. do you know what i mean?

its like arguing for the existence of unicorns or monsters but not being able to use our senses to disprove there existence.

China has been more advanced than Russia for many centuries. Why didn't it colonize and annex Siberia in the 14th century?

What makes something, someone or some place meaningful to you?

Do you see meaning as intuitive -- centered around caring for people, or intellectual -- focusing on the quest for spirituality/knowledge?

love,
a simple enough word,
just four letters,
only a single syllable,
never thought it would be so hard,
such a simple word,
but so hard to say,
so hard to explain,
so hard to confess.

each time i look at you that word comes to mind,
but it never comes out,
afraid that you won't feel the same,
or that it isn't true
or that it will scare you away.

i am not sure if this love is true,
or if it is love at all,
but i wish i could say it to your face to see if you feel the same,
to see how you react,
but each time i open my mouth to say it,
i get tongue tied,
can't breathe,
and all i can do is stare in your eyes,
as you stare in mine,
and the world stops as we kiss.

is this love,
i don't know,
do you think it's love too,
i don't know,
but each time i look in your eyes,
each time we share a kiss,
or whenever you hold me close,
i wish for the moment to last forever,
and that scary four-letter word runs through my head.

i recently went to Gettysburg with my 7th grade class. while doing a cemetery activity, i found a marker with:

CW Strong
Commander General Regt. 137
(really it said: Co. G. Regt 137)

is there like a civil war website where you can search for generals? cause if i had the guy's frst name, finding out who he was will be alot easier...thanks!

PS: Gettysburg is/was AMAZING!!! it went by too fast ='[

The philosopher asserts, "Women are directly fitted for acting as the nurses and teachers of our early childhood by the fact that they are themselves childish, frivolous and short-sighted; in a word, they are big children all their life long--a kind of intermediate stage between the child and the full-grown man, who is man in the strict sense of the word."

What does Schopenhauer mean?
