It is an Italian surname
SCURTI, SCURTO: Probably from the adjective "corto" = short, to indicate a short person. Also derived from the dialect verb "scurtà" = to finish

I checked Ancestry.Com and could not find the meaning. One immigrant with the surname Scurto came from Italy and one from Poland.

The best thing to do is to trace your lineage. Start with your parents and work backwards.

Another thing since you have furnished a name, if there is a coat of arms with your name, someone might furnish you a link to a coat of arms peddler. There are no laws in the U. S. regarding heraldry and these companies will sell one to you without documented proof you are entitled to it. They go solely on your surname. Family's do not have coats of arms. They were issued to individuals.

SCURTO is Italian in origin; possibly from the adjective "CORTO" for short (indicating a short person), or from the dialect verb "SCURTA" meaning "to finish."
