I can see 2 dogs doing a PDA on the street, so why not humans.
It's nothing to be embarrassed about. If you are doing PDA, you should share. Not sharing is being selfish and greedy.

Hmmm. I'll assume that you're referring to Public Display of Affection (PDA) here. Actually, it really depends on both (1) the actual act itself; (2) context/environment. Firstly, these are acts of intimacy, and one should understand these acts of intimacy there are differing levels of intimacy. Simple touches such as holding hands, pecks on cheeks and lips and hugs are great, and often signifies love and peace in normal societies. However, deeper intimacy acts such as fondling, necking, or other forms of touch that shows acts of sexuality, not love as i mentioned above, is still a taboo that breaches on mores and practices in society. It is not wrong in itself, but the sheer inappropriateness of this act of intimacy should be confined to the four walls of one's home. Why? It's intimacy, eros, that should be kept secret, one secret only two person, that couple should share amongst themself. By bringing this eros/PDA out in the open, it creates a shock to the people viewing it. Yes, people who have eyes will take notice. It will cause discomfort to people, and why should one cause discomfort to others? There are some more acceptable PDAs, which i will not contest, but we should be more contextually and culturally appropriate. When we practice PDAs that breach mores/societal norms, it signifies that one is comfortable in making others uncomfortable, and not caring of the world. I do understand individuality, and that two people love each other and are comfortable enough to show the world that...but i also would like to highlight the importance of appropriateness i.e. not many people would laugh hysterically in funerals....so let's be nice k?

It's not illegal, it's unethical. Keep your intimacy away from the eyes of my kids.
