And when a tree falls in the forest, it doesn't make any sound at all because you weren't there to hear it, right? 1969 was the year my Mom was the first female to ever win an N.H.R.A. drag racing title driving an AMC Hurst SS/AMX called the Drag-On Lady. She followed it up in 1970 with a repeat title win. 1967 was the year Craig Breedlove set 109 land speed records in 24 hours driving a showroom factory AMX during 24 hours at Daytona, with nothing but tire and fuel stops. Over 70 of those records still stand today. But of course since you weren't there to see it, it never happened. Nor did Woodstock, Man's landing on the Moon, (I never believed that one anyway, but thanks to you, it's now clear to me it was a hoax. Couldn't have happened if you can't recall it, right?) Then there was the whole Holocaust thing, the War of Northern Aggression, and various other wars and trials and tribulations which couldn't have happened. Because YOUR history started in 1970 must mean Earth's history started about then also. Works for me. After all, history is nothing more than one's PERCEPTION of the past. And really...How can one be expected to perceive something they never experienced? I'm with you. Mom has her trophies and HER memories and her histories and perceptions. I have mine. You have yours. We all have opinions and anuses and they probably all stink as well. But C'est La Vie!!!

I suspect the whole pre 1970 thing was all media hype. I mean I can remember stuff like having to remember to change the date I wrote in my exercise book at school from 1969 to 1970 but that just seems a little to convenient to me. I think that even then the great pre 1970 conspiracy was underway.

A great deal more than i have space for happened before 1970. First i was born in 1958. Chaneges in education, (desegragation of schools) methods of teaching etc. The first man made satalite to orbit the earth was launched in the 50s. Man landed on the moon in1969 if i remember right. Americas involvement in veit nam begain in 1963. If you would be more specific i could add a great deal to this answer to your question.

I suppose most in this group where not born until after 1970. But still there are a few that have a grasp of history. How are you about discussing the beginnings of western civilization?(took place long before 1970). What we fail to learn from history we are doomed to repeat.....that's is what is the problem with humanity; we keep repeating the same mistakes from history instead of learning our lessons and evolving.....Stagnant, stubborn bunch we are.

Someone older than you is likely to have memories that predate your own.
I'm sure one or both of your parents will remember your birth. This is an event that likely occured before your focused memories.
I'm sure that your parent(s) remember learning of the pregnancy. You definitely wouldn't have memory of this as you were likely nothing more than a neural tube that had not differentiated into a brain with sensory inputs.
Those of us older than you have memories earlier than 1970.
The issue then is, if you don't remember it, it didn't happen. As I wrote above, several things happened that you don't remember, ergo your conclusion is false.

Evrything that happened before 1970 is none of your business. There, that's as stupid an answer as was the question. How about WW2? You must have heard about it. How about the first man on the moon in 1969? You must have heard about it. How about the Kennedy Assasination? 1963? You must have heard about it. How about, ah, what's the use!

Just because you don't remember something doesn't mean it didn't happen or that it didn't exist.
You carry the notion that everyone is the center of their own universe to an absurd limit. I have never met you and I don't believe you exist, and as far as my world is concerned; you don't.
