It is the same sort of style as Oscar Wilde's writings, but it's title involves I think the words: "aunt" and "goose". A man pretends to be his aunt, but that is as far as I can remember.

I went out with my friend on a bike ride yesterday. We pulled up by the side of a path for a break. I opened my bag up to get my water. There were my tyre levers, my pump, my valves, my sandwiches but nowhere could I see my water. I'd forgot to pack it.

My friend was, at that tme, enjoying a draught of his own water from his full bottle (about a 3/4L bottle). I asked if I could have a drink from his but he refused on the grounds that he had only brought enough water for himself. He suggested that, instead, I go to a nearby pub and ask for a glass of water there.

Can anyone think of a reason why his decision was justified?

I'm posting this in philosophy to encourage a deeper analysis than I might have got in the 'friends' section.

I'm 16 years old and I've recently become interesting in acting. However I'm worried that it's too late for me to start. I don't do Drama at my school and I've never attended a drama class outside of school. Many drama schools (e.g. stagecoach) accept students up to 16 and the classes for older students appear to be for more advanced students. So is it too late for me to begin drama classes (as I have no experience) and maybe continue it as a career option?

Is it light? Does it lighten things? Can darkness be actually light, not absence of it, but another form of pure light?
Did it ever lighten something for you?

Here is my proof:

Some say that God is the meaning of life. God is love according to most religions. In other phiosophy, God is unity, complete reality, the present.

I can reconcile both these concepts of God, and prove that the meaning of life = 1.

For example: Usually love is conditional upon certain factors. These factors being linked to what our ego needs to hold on to in order to survive. I can prove this logically:

We make the assumption that:

A) x = 0 is pure oblivion, and impossible.
B) 1 = love/meaning of life.
C) 0 < x < 1
D) ∑x = 1

What the meaning of life is not: Conditional love. For example:

"I love x"
Is conditional upon: "I do not love (1-x)"

However, if true love is unconditional:

And since: x + (1-x) = 1

Therefore:

True love = 1

Thus:

Meaning of life = 1

Or in other words:

The meaning of life is.

I am starting to do some research for a historical fiction novel that I intend to write. The research isn't really a problem (my bachelor's degree is in history, specifically with the realm of Modern Europe).

There are a couple of minor details that I would like to leave in the novel that wouldn't necessarily be historically accurate. My major protagonist is a young woman living in the late 19th century England who comes from the upper crust of society and yet, she works as a common schoolteacher (that's not the entire plot of the story, by the way....it's much more than that).

Would it be acceptable to include this or develop it further? I have entertained the idea of having her teach at a private institution or even just Sunday school.

I admit I'm a bit of a Jane Austen wannabe and she's one of my influences, so to speak but I won't be writing the book in that style (considering Austen was before the Victorian era).

Any comments or suggestions?
