I am really into reading a good book and then watching the movie (I just finished reading The Cider Hous Rules and I can't wait to watch the movie tonight). Any suggestions for my next read? (Please no crap like The Firm or other crap - I'm looking for real literature please).

I mean who ever truly believed that he died by getting punched in the stomach when he wasn't ready rupturing his appendix. It always seemed strange to me. They are going to dig him up to see if he was poisoned.

When I was young my parents pretty much let me read what I wanted, quite often on holiday I would read all my books then read all theirs -this never did me any harm... However, I have encountered parents who heavily control what their children read - personally I think this discourages reading and is unnecessary. What do you think? Did/do your parents control what you read?

Had a book published? If so, what was the basic process and about how much did it cost? I'm interested in looking into the publishing world, but know nothing about it. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. And also, if you HAVE had some sort of book published, could you include a link to the website about which company you used (if a site is available)? Lastly, is an agent really required? Or is it possible to bypass having one? Thank you!

does anyone know of a website where I can search for a relative who fought in WW2? Using his serial number or something? A great grandfather of mine fought in Italy with the South Africans, and I'd like to find him in some kind of registry thing or something.

I wanted to give my mother a book she can relate to, she has just gone through her second divorce, and actually had to move in with my grandmother. She's starting over and tends to jump into relationships quickly, and has now been dating a man for a few months (3-4) and they are already talking about marriage. I want to give her a book with a story about learning to love yourself, getting back on track after a divorce, and not to be afraid if you are alone.

I have noticed that our dollar bill has a pyramid on the back, and we have skyscrapers......
So did Egypt build the pyramids (since they are not as advanced as us) to try to compete with our skyscrapers?
And did they get the idea for a shape from our dollar bill?

Has anyone else ever noticed this?
