Our first responsibility is towards ourselves and the next towards our family. However, the rest of the responsibilities towards the society are of two types.... there are some mandatory ones such as civic and legal and others which are taken by choice such as using our talents and capabilities for the benefit of the society and noble acts of charity, helping others etc.

Above all is the spiritual responsibility to be true and honest to oneself and be upright so as not to lose self esteem.... this is the most important, because if it gets relegated to lower priority, the damage to self is incalculable. Losing self-esteem makes us generally irresponsible and that affects all our responsibilities adversely.

To love and respect everyone.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Your brother

My responsibility is to be a productive student and offer my education as an example to other children who may not be as motivated intrinsically and need some support to show that success can be achieved. Also, I am responsible for being emotional supportive of my parents and my sister. Finally, I am responsible for following the rules set in place by local state and federal laws...at least most of the time.. :P

To be a mom, wife, daughter, friend, and sister. I have a 3 year old son that I have to take care of by myself. I feed him, bathe him, put his clothes on him. I play with him, I sing with him, I teach him, and I put him to bed. I do everything a normal mom does. My husband is paralyzed so on top of raising my kid, I help him out all day. I tend to his needs. I of course cook for him and make him his plate. I get him what he needs to be satisfied throughout the day. I talk to my friends everyday to, well of course, keep them as my friends and just to relax. I also have to keep the house clean, cook, and stay happy for everybody. And that's a big responsibility cuz if I don't stay happy everything seems to go to sh*t in our house. On top of all these responsibilities, I'm only 21. Not compaining, it's just a lot of stuff, I think, for a girl my age.
