It seems that when i use my camera in manual mode, I have very grainy and blurry pictures. Should this be happening? If so, what may also be some other disadvantages of using manual over auto mode or something easier?

Love is a passion of things unbound,
A passion of self.
A passion of others,
A passion of purpose.

Love is a devine hope,
Or a curse of mortal man.
Love is a quest,
Undertaken by all.

Love is the unknown force,
A force that drives us to foolishness.
Drives us to unknown heights,
Unknown reaches of insanity.

Love can be your saviour,
Love can be your downfall.
Love can be so much,
It's your choice which is yours.

I'm doing a project for English on Memoirs of a Geisha. Its a powerpoint and one of the slides has to be about the conflict, internal and external. I already have the internal one, and most of the external. I'm trying to list some of the things Hatsumomo did to Chiyo to try to ruin her chances of ever becoming a geisha. However, I'm drawing a complete blank. All I can remember is that Hatsumomo makes Chiyo practice her calligraphy on Mameha's kimono. I would really appreciate it if you could help me figure out some of the other things Hatsumomo did to Chiyo as a child or once she became Sayuri. Thank you in advance.

I've heard it pronounced day-gah. If that's the case why isn't it spelt Dégas (with the accent).
On the family tomb the name is spelt 'de Gas', in which case it should be pronounced der-gah.
Can anyone help me out here?

My greatgrandfather immigrated to the States in 1914. My father's family had no idea if he had ever reached New York. That is up until 2 months ago when I was able to trace him in the Ellis Island passenger records.
However, I didn't manage to find anything else. Can anyone give me a clue of how I can find more info?
Of course he is not alive, but it would be cool to find his offspring!

I bought this book even though I had none of the usual 'clicks' I have when normally buying a book and to my disappointment it's a total miss, boring and just not my thing.
However... I would like to know how it pans out without needing to plow through the last 200 pages so has anyone read it and could you give me a short summary of what happens and how it ends?

Im struggling with this essay question:

Contrast the poems “The Magi” by Yeats and “Journey of the Magi” by Eliot, answering the question, “which poet’s point of view is Christian?” Use specific examples from each poem to support your analysis.

I'm so stumped. I'm leaning more towards Eliot..but then again both poets are pretty much saying the same thing.

Here is THE MAGI (Yeats): Now as at all times I can see in the mind's eye, In their stiff, painted clothes, the pale unsatisfied ones Appear and disappear in the blue depth of the sky With all their ancient faces like rain-beaten stones, And all their helms of silver hovering side by side, And all their eyes still fixed, hoping to find once more, Being by Calvary's turbulence unsatisfied, The uncontrollable mystery on the bestial floor.

Who is in control of your life? And who do you think should be in control of your life?

(I bet most people think it should be themselves but I think it should be God because he does a better job at it than us! (and things work out better !!!))

Hi.

I'd like a signed, personalized book signed by author Kurt Vonnegut. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get one? Obviously, eBay and similar aren't options because I want it personalized. As far as I know, Vonnegut doesn't do book signings/tours any more and he's not really a young guy. Any thoughts? Thank you.
