Intelligent Design is the most elegant theory.

Any complex scientific demonstration of micro-minutae is irrelevant. The facts are clear: evolutionary biology &c is far too complicated to be a convincing explanation ever.

Does anyone here know where the name comes from? I read some place that it's a Basque. But, a friend who's Basque tells me that it's the first time that he's encountered the name (but he's heard of someone named Gaviota). Although, I've read people who're Basque with that same last name. It's difficult for me to do a "Family Tree" since a lot of my relatives are dead.

Is it right for dummy festivals to be celebrated as , Valetines day, grandparents day., techer day, etc while true heroes like Cristobal Colom , Vasco De Gama , Robert E. Lee and others are put in the back burner for forgetfullness on the basis of not understandin the minds of that time-period , on the basis of political -correcteness? A country with out heroes is a dead country! Speak up you say you love America ! Where is your mouth?

I am absolutely fascinated with Anita Shreve's work, but I have never heard anyone else mention her like I do. Are there any fans of hers here? What was your favorite book of hers, and why? The first one I ever read of hers was "The Last Time They Met" and it was absolutely wonderful. It was told in reverse chronological order, which I thought was brilliant.
