Does anyone know how English surnames/last names came about? Such as Richards, Carr, Hawke, Gates, O' Sullivan, O' Malley, Edwards, Parker, Lang, Lawley, Anderson, Harvey, Nelson, etc? In AD 1000 no such surnames exist, so how exactly did they emerge?

PS: Pls give factual information - I'm very curious to know

Hey i am almost 20 years old and i always dreamed of being a dancer.i especially love latin.salsa and hip hop.i never got a chance to pursue this dream because in my country all dance schools only teach dancing as a socially, none of the students are really passionate about dance mainly latin dancing and salsa they just join classes because they think it is the "in" thing right now. i have been to 10 different dance schools and i find it difficult to advance because thay teach the same steps over and over. i have taken serious lessons in latin dance between the ages of 8 to 11 but the school closed down. now i want to take a year off to dance seriously...but i know i am too old to think of going pro but do you think i can earn some kind of certification as a teacher if i practise all day.idon't mind going to school any where in the world or having private lessons. i am plump, not very flexible but i learn quickly.am very enthusiatic, workhard and l genuinely love it.

my fiance's surname is McCorkle and he swears that it is Irish. I looked on the internet and it says that it is scottish, but he doesn't believe me. Does anyone know if the name McCorkle can have an Irish background too? Also, has anyone ever heard of a filipino surname of "felicia or feliciano"? Sounds awfully Italian to me, but it was my full bloodied filipino grandfather's original surname before he changed it to move to the u.s.

There are many variations of Salsa: L.A. Salsa, NY Salsa On 2, Casino or Cuban Salsa, etc. I read something about Curacao Salsa. Can anyone familiar with Curacao Salsa explain what is it? How is it different from Cuban and other popular salsa? Please write in details how it is danced (such as the breaking of the foot on 1,2,3...). Thanks in advance.

It is said that 'God' is not bound by time. He knows the past as well as the future. Then he should have known that his 'creation' was flawed. If I know that what I do today is not going to work, I would modify my work so that it will work tommorrow and thereafter.
This 'God' made man, knowing his future. Yet he imposed 'laws' that he (God) knew would be broken. Does this make any sence????
