After intense street-to-street combat, when Soviet troops were spotted within a block or two of the Reich Chancellory in the city centre, Hitler committed suicide in the Führerbunker on April 30, 1945 by means of a self-delivered shot to the head (it is likely he simultaneously bit into a cyanide ampoule). Hitler's body and that of Eva Braun (his long-term mistress whom he had married the day before) were put in a bomb crater, partially burned with gasoline by Führerbunker aides and hastily buried in the Chancellory garden as Russian shells poured down and Red Army infantry continued to advance only two or three hundred metres away. He also had his dog Blondi poisoned around the same time.
When Russian forces reached the Chancellory, they found his body and an autopsy was performed using dental records (and German dental assistants who were familiar with them) to confirm the identification. To avoid any possibility of creating a potential shrine, the remains of Hitler and Braun were repeatedly moved, then secretly buried by SMERSH at their new headquarters in Magdeburg. In April 1970, when the facility was about to be turned over to the East German government, the remains were reportedly exhumed, thoroughly cremated, and the ashes finally dumped unceremoniously into the Elbe. According to the Russian Federal Security Service, a fragment of human skull stored in its archives and displayed to the public in a 2000 exhibition came from the remains of Hitler's body uncovered by the Red Army in Berlin, and is all that remains of Hitler; however, the authenticity of the skull has been challenged by many historians and researchers.

As far as the OFFICIAL accounts, Adolph Hitler Commited suicide by gunshot on April 30, 1945. There were rumors that it was someone else's body that was buried in his place, and that he had actually fled with a number of other nazi oficers to South America. There has never been any substancial evidence to dispute the findings of the allied physicians when they identified Hitler's body so as far as anyone knows he died in Germany, in 1945.

Since the Soviet Union collapsed they have opened up their formerly secret files, and the death of Hitler by suicide as per the official account is very well documented therein. It was just Stalin's mania for secrecy that caused the confusion about Hitler's fate.

I think he still alive, because his death doesn't confirm clearly (they could not find war-head of his shotgun (if he commited suicide), and lately the doctor who examined Hitler's body said he not sure about the death body is Hitler or not. Recently in news, the FBI of America had quoted: "Reports have been found and clues have been discovered that Adolf Hitler had not actually commited suicide as the reports said after the second world war." "He escaped to Argentina and it is said to have lived there for at least 11 years".

Of course he'd have been executed for war crimes. They hanged far less culpable men than he at Nuremberg. But Hitler was a coward and killed himself. Most of the really guilty Nazis followed his example, Goering, Goebbels, Himmler...the only first stringers at Nuremberg were Von Ribbentrop, Speer, and Hess (who'd parachuted into Scotland in 1941 on some psycho peace mission and therefore missed involvement in some of the worst crimes of the war).

If he is allive, he's like 114 years old, so I'm gonna say no. There were rumors that he escaped to Argentina in a sub after the war, but I think its all bull. And these people who equate the leaders of the U.S. and England with Hitler have no sense of real history and a flair for over the top sensationalism. I don't like bush either but christ, read a book.

Hitler committed suicide on 30 April 1945, just before the Russian Red Army took control of Berlin. He killed himself with a revolver and his body was burned and then buried in a garden.

No, he killed himself and Eva in the bunker and had his body burned. It's just frustration on the part of the Allies that they never got to hold a show-trial with Dolph before executing him.
Spiritually, he has had many "sons" (and even a few daughters) over the decades.
Today, Dubya Bush is making a fair play for the title, but he is hardly a stirring orator.
