I'm looking for a good murder mystery book that might be a little more on the graphic side. I've recently hit a slump on reading and need to would like to get back into it with a book that has some good intrigue, sexual content and has a bit of a bite.

Any good recommendations?

I'd say it was the NKVD, the forerunner to the KGB. Known more for it's brutality during Stalin's purges of 1934-38, (about 50% of the original NKVD officers were themselved purged.)

In WW2 they did the following:

They provided Stalin with advance warning of "Operation Barbarossa", even down to the date of June 22. Stalin chose to dismiss it and had some of his forgien spy's executed. Most likley because he knew they were right and he was just pissed about it.

In October 1941, they got specific information on the pending Pearl Harbor attack, right out of the German embassy office in Tokyo. This was crucial for them, they needed to know if Japan was going to attack the Soviet Union. When they found out it was to be America, they sent 1,000,000 troops from Siberia, who ended up pushing the Germans from Moscow the day before Pearl Harbor. Stalin never bothered to make sure that FDR knew.

And finally, they stole the Manhatten Project.

The picture is just like the picture on the movie Why Do Fools Fall in Love. On the scenes with Vivica Fox(Elizabeth) Larenz Tate(Frankie), inside of their apartment they had a picture hanging on the wall exact as I have. The name of the picture is New York City View. On the right hand corner of the pic is the word MAIO . It was funny because the picture in the movie is identical to the one I have. An older lady who was moving years ago gave it to my mom. Moms gave it to me. I imagine the pic is about 60' in width or longer . Does anyone know any thing about who may have drawn this picture? Or the significance of it? I do have photos.

Grasping at straws here. How do I search for the birth of someone, w/o knowing a name or date of birth? All I know is the fathers name and about what year this person was born? Think they might have been born in Springfield.

This is a question based on true story. I recently saw a movie based on true story of Brook Ellison. Brook Ellison is a woman who has been paralyzed from neck down since 11 and have been living on wheelchair every day.
Despite such terrible obstacles, she went on to graduate from Harvard University and become a great , inspirational person who contributes to society.
She is truly one of the most inspirational people I have seen in my life. Her life truly made me move deeply and not take things for granted.
I pose this Q to everyone to hear what you guys think.
How would you live every day if you were paralyzed from neck down since 11? Meaning, you would need help to move, to take shower, to eat, even in bathroom.
There is no right or wrong answer. I just would like to hear candid, honest answer. Thanks in advance for any insights.
