My mom forced me to take ballroom dancing lessons and take part in competions when I was 7,8, and 9. I was pretty good but I hated it. My mom said one day i'll thank her. She was right, I regret quitting and I wish I stayed with it since I started at a young age. You Should Do It. It's nice to know how do dance.

Absolutely take ballroom dance lessons. With a good teacher you will get hooked. It so much fun!

You can learn dances you can use for social dancing like salsa, swing, samba, etc.

Take time to find the right teacher. If there are multiple studios in your area, check out more than one. It would be good if they have a junior program, then you know they have other young people at the studios.

Be wary of franchise studios, like Fred Astaire, they cost more and make your parents sign a contract.

Dancing will also help you develop poise, balance and posture.

For sure. People often equate ballroom with only foxtrot and waltz, but all ten dances in International style, and even more in American style give you great variety, from smooth elegance to hot & sexy to just plain fun. And you get some basic fundamentals that transfer to street dancing. And once learned, you may allow yourself to get rusty, but you'll still be able to enjoy dance when you're old and gray.

For a initiating classification, you probably are not going to be doing lots of technique ideal off, so for the 1st little whilst you is frequently high-quality with footwear with a small heel (or perhaps tennis footwear, for adult men.) (be sure you may flow conveniently in them! No turn flops or footwear you will desire to make the attempt to maintain on!) as quickly as you arise to extra in-intensity stages, you would be wanting to positioned on the nicely suited footwear so which you learn the nicely suited technique, because it differences the kind you progression. Being mushy is perhaps the final education, and shop your hair out of your face. in case you have long hair, it somewhat is ultimate to place it right into a bun (I do, i've got smacked many a guy interior the face with braids and ponytails. Oops!). nicely, rejoice with. studying to bounce is this form of blast. And sturdy selection with ballroom! (Heh, not that i'm biased, ideal?)
