I live in Asia, so it affects me on a personal level.

I feel like the role of females are relegated to the backwaters here, reduced to immanence, the female can only find fulfilment in the other(male) according to his twisted asian ideals of what it means to be feminine, the docile, submissive subject without a rational agency of her own.

It's a universal issue i know, but why in Asia is it more prevalent compared to the west, generally speaking?
Thanks all.

rap is poetry
so i think it is ok to use any word that you want, but who uses this word in everyday conversation?, and does anyone know what it really means, and if you use it, why can olny the black skinned use the word, when anyone else says it there tends to be the same response with everyone "what did you just say ni***" i just dont understand.

I've read and upped his works, the man is genius in the flesh, although my teachers didn't praise him even halfway enough.

I am, but I don't call it "Christmas" and I am not a Christian.

I celebrate the time of the year...
the majesty of the season.

The sun goes down earlier; the air gets crisp and much a time cloudless, allowing for a beautiful window into the heavens.
Not the heavens that a "God" created but the heavens that were born simply by chance. A dark gift to us from no one in particular but lit by small fiery dots that create the very pieces we are made of. Our making, another gift from the hands of an unnamed, non existent creator - - - luck and chance.

The snow gently covers the land, that is if you are in a cold climate, but if you are not the season still cools things down a bit and in some cases gives you the rains that sustain your very life.

I celebrate the coming of a new year and the ending of one too. The hopes of prosperity and peace in the next and the reminiscing of the good times of the past.

I celebrate the season and life, not the religion, not any religion.

Unless we create a time machine sometime in the near future, we will have absolutely NO way of knowing what life will be like in the year 3000. Or the year 4000. We won't even know what life will be like in the year 2150. Doesn't that upset you? At the rate we're going, life will be drastically different in 1,000 years. I would give anything to know what kinds of cool technology will exist in the distant future, or what people will look like, or what everyday life will be like, but I will never know, and neither will you. And no matter how much we cry or beg or scream, there's nothing anybody can do about it.
