I'm 18, and I want to paint some kind of mural on my wall in my room. I'm a pretty good artist, but I don't know what I want to paint a mural of. I'm 18 like I said and going to college . . . any ideas?

oh i forgot to mention im a guy. Someone mentioned a city scene, and I really like that idea. I'm from new orleans and live in houston now.. and i love my city of n.o.

I'm thinking about making the first wall you see when you walk in across the room like bourbon street, and each wall on each side of me like the shops/bars.. so it looks like your staring down bourbon in the middle of the street
Think it would work or would it look funny?

hey....you're an artist right?............. you don't have to ask people what to paint.......... i do believe you can do it w/ out any help...... like what you've said,....you're a good artist,.... i know you have some ideas floating in your mind.......... just paint it...

I'm no expert on paints, but I have painted several wall murals using nothing other than craft paint. You can get this at any craft store. I actually bought most of mine at Wal Mart!! They are cheap and offer a wide variety of colors. They come in small bottles with a flip cap so you can squirt out just the amount that you need. And a little goes a long way, so they last a long time. They also wash off the skin very easy, which is great for me, since I'm very messy! And all of my murals have lasted a long time, even the ones that I painted in a day care center and they get touched all the time!!

I'm about to be 20. I painted a mural of a fantasy scene- a castle, a dragon, and some trees- on my sliding-closet-doors. Its been that way for 3 years and I still love it! I suggest doing soemthing that speaks about who you are, something you love. I think the city idea sounds awesome!

Y'know, I painted a wall so that it looked like it was marble (there are lots of books on this, its not all that hard) and then I painted it to look like there was a wide crack in the wall and in the distance there was a courtyard. You could do something like that with New Orleans - just an idea. People always really liked it when they came over.

Don't do something that you may lose interest in, like a band or some hobby, idk, I'd opt for scenery, how 'bout a sunset?! They're always fun to paint!

well...it depends if ur a guy or gurl....
i think a city skyline is nice....w/ dark blues & such (it's @ night) w/ some lights!!!
