My daughter has been playing the violin for several years. Her music teacher recently called me and said that my daughter is too advanced for her class and wants to advance her to field harmonic.

I have no idea what a field harmonic is and how it is related to the violin. Can you guys explain it to me please?

Thanks.

It is I know a hard one because in the first thought you realise there are lots of days you wish you could change. When considering which is the worst day you automatically think of a more recent day.
I have spent a long time trying to decide on one day and have really struggled to do so....you may find it easier than I.
The one day I would change would be three days before my appendix burst, then I would have a smaller scar and would have suffered less, thus regaining more time I could have enjoyed on other things.

I just tripped over my shoe and would have bashed my head off the wall if my hand hadn't shot up to catch myself. Then it hit me, through all the complex intricasies that we interpret as truly astonishing and unlikely that make up our human history, how can it not have been fated, all those choices made that brought us here and keep us going even as you read this?

This is a comedian, I think he's american but spends half the year in England....I’m trying to find a book he wrote about various stories. (comic stories)
One of them is about a frog that walks into a pub and spoils the joke because it spoke to the bartender….
Another one, about how it would be better for pubs in England to close later, and for arm stores in America to close earlier, cause you can’t find a pint after midnight in England, but you can buy a gun at 3 am in America… well there were other stories, these are just two of them in that book… sorry for being so… inexplicit!
I'm sorry, I don't even know the book title!

It's NOT Dan Brown, but it's like his books. The bad guy kills a Cardinal every hour, and the hero races around Rome trying to guess where the next place a Cardinal will be killedn (he's always a couple minutes late). In the movie, the hero ends up getting chained underwater in a fountain and has to escape. It's really gross, with Cardinals getting tortured and stuff.

I've been working on my graduate degree for the last several months, but the semester is coming to a close and I am going to have about four weeks to read whatever I want to read (rather than something I've been assigned to read). I will be on vacation most of the time I am away from school and will have plenty of time to read a good book on the beach. I really want to read a good book, something really entertaining and enjoyable. So, my question is what's the best book you have ever read? I've read everything Tom Clancy has ever written, the entire Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling (highly recommended by my 14 year old nephew) and most recently "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown. As you can see, I'm pretty much open to anything as long as it's not a college text book. So, any suggestions?
