The bad guy kills a Cardinal every hour, and the hero races around Rome trying to guess where the next place a Cardinal will be killedn (he's always a couple minutes late). In the movie, the hero ends up getting chained underwater in a fountain and has to escape. It's really gross, with Cardinals getting tortured and stuff.
