So many different answers to this question. I am a christian so obviously my answer would have to come from a slightly different perspective. So many religions have sprung up from nothing, acting and thinking upon the shaky foundations of introspection and philosophical instinct. And the real paradox is that all religions claim truth, and therefore all religions claim exclusivity. Even those religions that claim to accept everyone "in love" are making a truth-claim by denying the option of rejection to those religions that would oppose them!! People are funny. All I know is that I didn't come from nothing and I didn't come from a monkey.
If you and I were sitting in a room by ourselves, and we heard a loud explosion outside the room. You might say, "Hey! What in the world was that?! What caused that explosion?"
And then I said, "Oh nothing caused it. It just happened."
You would not accept that argument. And so it is with the Big Bang. You know through common sense that there is always a cause to every effect. So we as people were obviously put here by something. I have good reasons for my belief of what that "something" was, but I think it is important for everyone to study these things for themselves. Don't take my word for it.
Also, the issue of the Cambrian explosion is always a thorn in the side of the evolutionist argument. I would look into that as well.
I know that this may not sufficiently answer your "why" question of existence, but I think that it is important to discuss the "how" question first. The conclusion is always so much more difficult to understand when you don't know the beginning.
Happy trails to you. I wish you luck in your endeavors.

Yes, I do. I am the offspring of my parents, who were in turn the offspring of their parents and so on and so on, so far back into pre-history that we can't see where it began and we try to make up stories about where it began because the human mind abhors an un-answered question.
We are here as the current "links" in a "chain of living beings".
Hopefully we are strong links.

we are here because of our own action,to undo all the wrong we had done in our previous lives,in dreams we dream of people, objects and all the happings, all these people and object did not go into your dream we created all these oneself, what we are now is also the same,it is what we have created that leads us into this world, everything is a dream, the best way is to go back to nature, that is don't live against the laws of nature

My grammar-school gym teacher was pretty succinct about this, "Son, just muddle through as best you can, because it don't mean ****."
