a wall of stone and steel is all that protects my heart from breaking.
will it be enoutgh to keep the tears from running?
can it possibly be strong enough to keep me safe inside?
will i always feel the hurt of the world and want to run and hide?
can a wall of stone and steel keep me safe inside?
can it keep out all that would like to hurt me?
can it keep me from feeling?
a wall of stone and steel can't possibly save me.
is there a wall out there i can build around my heart?
is there to be some material out there to build such a wall to save me from the thoughts that would crush me.
a wall to keep me safe from the world that would love to crush me.
the wall that secures my heart is getting week and old.
soon it will fall and the feelings and thoughts will come crushing down inside.
my wall is soon to fall and all will be lost.
will i be able to survive?
could i possibly be able to build a wall more stronger than before?
a wall of stone a steel is protecting my heart from breaking.
but when another blow comes will it be able to stand or will it be no more?

Rather as - what makes you come alive?
Then go and do it!
Because what the world needs is people
who have come alive.

1. The Tempest - Act 2, Sc 2, Ln 23, Trinculo's speech:
"Here's neither bush nor shrub, to bear off..."

2. Two Gentlemen of Verona - Act 1, Sc 2, Ln 115, Julia's speech:
"O hateful hands, to tear such loving words!..."
http://www-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/two_gentlemen/two_gentlemen.1.2.html
(I can't figure out whether this is sad or funny!)

If not, can anyone suggest something else for the second piece? I want to do a female lovesick character lamenting over lost love or something like that. But I don't want to do the usual suspects like Romeo & Juliet or Hamlet. (A Midsummer Night's Dream is also out because that's the play I'm auditioning for.)

I'm female, but I chose my first monologue from a male speech because I couldn't find any very funny pieces written for females, and I love that Trinculo speech.

I suppose this sound like a stupid question - it's only for those who don't believe in an afterlife by the way.
Seeing as everything you know is based on your ability to move and breathe and generally live, is it possible to conceive not existing?
Is it beyond human comprehension to imagine time being infinite and you being gone forever as soon as you die? I certainly can't imagine it, it gives me a headache thinking about it.

One photo in particular has a detail of four kids in halloween costumes, but their faces are clearly visable. I have been told that because it was a public grouping I do not need a legal binding release to market the image. Is this true?
