Four Presidents have been assassinated.
1) Abraham Lincoln - 1865
2) James Garfield - 1881
3) James McKinley - 1901
4) John F Kennedy - 1963
Failed attempts have been made on Andrew Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt, wounded (former President running for re-election), President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan(seriously wounded).

4 US Presidents have been assassinated. Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley and John F Kennedy. Assassination attempts... I remember one on Gerald Ford and another on Ronald Reagan but that is the best I can do.

Garfield, McKinley, Lincoln,and Kennedy were assassinated. Attempts were made on Presidents Ford and Reagan. That is the best I can do. Hope it helps.

Isn't there supposed to be a pattern to this? I'm sure I read somewhere that every fourth president, up to Ronald Reagan, has had an assassination attempt against them.
I'm not from the US, so I can't say whether this is the case from the Presidents named. (sorry, I'm not up on my presidents)
