depends what your metal is: bronze, silver, gold, aluminium, steel?
And you have to specify if you want it melted down and then used to make a new piece? Or does your car need body repair because somebody made a large dent into it.
What scale, jewelry, 10 ton bell?

Be more specific in your question and you will get a more useful answer.
If it is a piece of jewelry, look if you can find a jewelry shop - one which makes their own jewelry, not just retail. They will need to know what exactly your metal is, so if it does not have a hallmark it may be difficult.
