Can anyone explain what is meant by "positive properties"? In the article it states:

"Gödel defines a positive property rather vaguely: "Positive means positive in the moral aesthetic sense (independently of the accidental structure of the world)... It may also mean pure attribution as opposed to privation (or containing privation)." (Gödel 1995"

However this doesnt make much sense to me. A more clear, down to earth explanation would help a lot.

Also, what is Necesarry Existance as refered to in the proof? Is it something that HAS to be? Its hard for me to speculate what NE may be because it states it is positive property and I am unclear as to what that is.

Thanks for any help.

I'm scared of just about everything on the face of the planet, but something possessed me to start reading E. A. Poe. I've already read The Fall of the House Usher, the Tell-Tale Heart, and the Masque of the Red Death. I've got one of those 'complete works' books, so what should I read next?

The book Return to Laughter was written by Laura Bohannon and published under the pseudonym Elenore Smith Bowen. Which do I use when referring to her in my essay?

I am currently a freshman in college, studying Civil Engineering. However, I have come to the conclusion that I do not want to be an Engineer. It's just not me. True that Engineers make a lot of money, but I'd rather have a job in a field that makes me happy, than in one that I know will never, in a million years, grant me that wish.

I am really into visual art and writing, though. Those are two of my biggest passions. I want to change majors (from Civil Engineering to Interior Design or some other type of art) and today I met with one of the art department recruiters at my current university. However, she told me that I have to put together a portfolio with AT LEAST 12 of my best pieces of work (by December 10, 2006). I don't know what to do because I don't have any of my really good artworks with me and I don't have any spare time to work on any new ones... :(

Any suggestions about what I should do?

I'm trying to find a good 4x5 camera new or used under $700. I have been burned on ebay before. Does anyone know of a good, reputable company that sells 4x5 cameras in Nevada, Utah, Idaho or online??

The poem:

There once was a man from Peru
Who dreamed he was eating his shoe
He woke with a fright
In the middle of the night
To find that his dream had come true

Think it's by Emily Dickinson, but I could be completyle wrong. LOL. Who is it by?

I am thinking about those fight scenes in the movies were one guy has a huge hammer or one of those fails and you say to your mates, 'I would like to be like him'.

Crazy ideas welcome but modern weapons like guns or nuke answers wont be winning the points.

think about how hip-hop affects women, how they are always called "bitches", they have no name, just bitches

2nd question) What responsibilities does the artist (of a rap song) have toward the community? To what extent should the artist have a moral function??

it would be really helpful if u could give me some topics i can talk about to answer this question!

this question is for my philosophy class n i haven't been in that class for 2 weeks so i need major help! so we read an article about hip-hop and these are questions that we are supposed to answer from our own perspective, not the article...thank you!!!!

So I've read A Million Little Pieces, My Friend Leonard, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I'm going to read Running with Scissors soon..
for some reason this type/genre of books absolutely drag me in and I cannot put them down!!! They're SO good! (by the way.. I don't want a lecture on whether james frey's books are the truth or not, i don't really care because either way.. they're AWSOME) I was just wondering if anyone knows any other books that are in the same general genre/ type that they would like to share with me? Biggest list gets the 10 points.

By this I mean: let us imagine that there is something, therefore an existing entity, but we just not have the enough ability (linguistic, psichological, pragmatical, etc...) to "say" that thing; we can't express it by words, by propositions.

Is there something that we cannot say?

Say which ones, if yes. Say why not, if no!
