In the words of Descartes' "Cogito ergo sum", or "I doubt therefore I am". To elaborate, I have the ability to doubt my own existance, which proves that I exist, pushed into your question, I know I have a mind, but I dont even know if you do. For all I know I am a fantastical experiment of a perverted entity. How would I ever truely know?? Good luck hon ;)

Mind is a level only reached by humanity, and to a lesser degree some of the higher mamals, such as primates and whales and dolphins.
Most creatures have a brain, but this does NOT mean they have a mind. They have instincts but not rationale.
