Are there any links with the Romans?

Why did Hitler rotate the swastika?

What is the significance of Germany in Hitlers time being called the Third Reich and the Holy Roman Empire the First Reich?

Thank you for you help. Please can you try not to copy from websites and please can you quote your source.

I almost actualy threw up when reading joseph heller describe the wound of one of the soldiers in this novel.... I had to put the book down for a minute. I have never had such a reaction from a book and typicaly have a strong stomach for such things. Maybe its discriptive style, I don't know. It was a big suprise for me. Has anyone else ever had such a reaction from a book?

I am used to using a gloss enamel paint brand called Testors for craft projects. I was wondering if there was a way I could use acrylic paint but make it glossy somehow? I am not familiar with acrylic paint so can I add a gloss varnish to it, ie. mixing it into my acrylics to make them glossy beforehand or spraying the varnish as a final coat to gloss the craft items? Any advice much appreciated!

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind.
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do, crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind

[Now] Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away, and all your money won't another minute buy.

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind, everything is dust in the wind.

The hurt reflects the love you have,
The beauty reflects Gods' gift for you,
Your wealth reflects pure fortune,
Yet you turn this and much more,
Into your own agony.

It's your loved ones you are neglecting,
It's your loved ones you are hurting,
It's your loved ones you are choosing,
To leave in exchange,
For countless, cureless wounds.

The other side of the world are suffering,
The other side of the world are dying,
The other side of the world are wishing,
For a life that's like yours,
Like the one you are "Innoccently" cutting away.

Your soul reflected nothing,
Your death reflected nothing,
Yo reflected nothing,
On the people still living,
Knowing that what they gave,
Was never good enough for you.

My daughter is seven years old and has been showing strong interest with putting together books. She creates her very own stories from her imagination. She gathers our computer paper, staples the papers together and writes her story on the whole page. She's very proud of her work and I was just wondering, does anyone have any simple ideas to encourage this? I was thinking about buying her some colorful string to bind the papers together, hole puncher, markers and special pens/pencils.

I write a fair amount, from stories, reviews for websites and also a bit of poetry from time to time. I find it easier to write from experience, do you think this is a good or bad thing in the long run.

playing god is often said if anyone steps in and changes the course of an event in the natural world, e.g.cub given lifesaving treatment for festering wound, etc. But isnt it really the reverse? That is, god does nothing, just leaves it, so by actually doing something is NOT being god, we're being humane, a human? And if 'god' not able to do anything physically himself gives us the impetus to do something/gave us the free will to decide ?

Since they began as angels, infused with a love for humanity, then sinned and were punished for that sin by being forced to harm humans wouldn't they actually be good beings forced to do bad things? Not to mention the fact that they only harm a human once that human has sinned themselves, they actually serve to motivate us to be better people. Are demons actually evil, or are they the ultimate symbol of tough love?

I want to document my artwork and put it on a website. I only have a pretty nice digital camera (but it is Kodak) to use. Will this work? I do not have a tripod or one I have access to. How should I go about taking the pictures? And do you know of any free software available for download to edit the pictures- pretty basic editing as in cropping, sizing, some color, etc.- that works well for paintings?
Thank you!
