To make your life have meaning.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

What again? This same stupid question?

Do you have any inkling of an idea how many countless times this tired out question has been REPEATEDLY ASKED AND ANSWERED over and over again?

Look, either go ask your spiritual advisor, pastor, minister, priest, rabbi, iman, or guru... or, better yet, see up above to the left where it reads, "Search for question:" and see to the right of it a blank text box...? click on that emtpy text box and write your question in... then click, "Search," and you will find how tiring and boring that question is and now many times it has been asked and answered.

Try being a little original if you can't be imaginative or spontaneous. The meaning of life is to live until you die! Please keep those tired out questions to yourself and your spiritual counsel or go play in traffic... go annoy your parents or something.

The meaning of life is an individual thing that can only be determined by the person asking the question.
My little rule of thumb is as follows;
Life without meaning is existence.
Life without purpose is existence.
Life without fulfillment is existence.

a very interesting question. personally i feel no two people have the smae meaning for their life and the meaning for us changes all the time. Presntly i feel the meaning of my life is to push the human race forward to change the world to make it a better place.

The purpose of life is to bring forth what might be. The purpose of consciousness is to discriminate good from bad. The purpose of intelligence is to judge which course of action will bring forth the best future.

To not judge what someone elses meaning is. To attain happiness through the connection of god and man, so that you may evolve as a spiritual creature, and set forth on your next journey.
