How about making copies of her book, and giving them to Grandparents for a gift. Praise is a great motivator. The scissors that is used for scrap booking could give a different edge and decorative edges to her paper. Also encourage her to draw a picture for the front of her stories.

that's awesome! maybe when she makes a lot of stories, u can get her a journal and pen set for "ideas" where she can take around w/ her everywhere... also u can have her put on plays with the family, or by herself. have her draw pictures, illustrations.... i like the markers and pens and string ideas! it would probably also excite her to have a Really Nice, binded blank book for "finished" works. :) good luck!
also u can get them laminated at kinkos and make a real book out of it, so she feels like she was "published"!

that's great! she is a writer in the making the best advice I can tell you is to always encourage more writing and participate in reading it with her..when she is done writing it on paper you can sit with her and type it out so you can start to show her the editing process.. and then when she shows improvement get a scraping book and help her create her book!

holy geez! here i've been, encouraging kids to rediscover the wonder of having a tactile experience of reading a book, here's a 7-year old with her mind set on writing her own books!
there's nothing like encouraging your daughter to weave and tell her own stories...and guiding her to write them, her way, at her own pace.
she'd love you to ask her whether the ladybug buzzing close to a spiderweb in the backyard bush might have a story that only she knows, that only she can tell. and she'd definitely love you to be with her as she creates her stories, giving feedback, encouraging words...or just an encouraging presence. and then helping her put her stories together in "book" form.
then, you might want to ask her if she wishes to have copies of her book to give away to grandpa or grandma, even read the story/ies to them as she gifts them with her autographed copy.
nothing like letting her realize that there are stories just waiting to be told, to be written, by her. and nothing like a purpose and appreciative audience to encourage her to create and write, making her realize that her efforts have been worthwhile.
